Serotonin is a chemical released in the brain when exposed to sunlight, which increases positive mood and energy. This natural boost can make a noticeable difference in how we feel daily.
As the day ends, serotonin becomes melatonin, which helps regulate our sleep cycle. Have you ever noticed how a day spent soaking up the sun at the beach leads to a more restful night's sleep? That's thanks to the sun at work.
Sunlight offers far more benefits than the fluorescent lights we often find indoors. Of course, it's important to protect your skin with sunscreen when spending extended periods outdoors to shield yourself from harmful UV rays.
