My Advice: Honor Your Energy

As I write this, I search for a perfect idea; something profound or polished. But today, what I feel is simple: honor your body, mind, and energy.
Today, I was tired. Not dramatically tired, just the kind of tired that lingers from not sleeping well, the very human kind. And instead of forcing myself to push through at 100%, I gave myself the grace I would give a friend. I showed up at around 70% today, and that was enough.
We are so quick to see our day through the lens of what we didn’t get done: The tasks left unchecked, the workout we didn’t push harder in, the plans we didn’t feel up for, the ways we could have done more. And when we put most of our focus there, of course, we feel like we’ve fallen short. But today, I tried something different; I focused on what I showed up for. How I met myself where I was, instead of fighting myself.
I focused on what mattered. I honored commitments gently. I cared for myself and others, softer, slower. When my body asked for rest, I rested. That looked like: A warm shower, A midday nap, A slower-paced morning, letting my presence be soft. And you know what? I don’t feel guilty. I feel proud.
No one can show up at 100% every day. Expecting that is demanding perfection from something beautifully human. If you wake up tired or simply don’t have your usual spark, let yourself be as you are. Human. Some days are full. Some days are quiet and both are worthy.
Remember: You are not meant to perform your life, you are meant to live in it. Take a moment now to pause. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and reflect on one small way you showed up today. Let this be your gentle reminder to honor the you that keeps trying, even when your pace is slower.
May you choose grace over pressure. Presence over perfection. And may today, whatever it looked like, be enough.
Xo,
Lynsey
